Design and Control of a Three-Level Rectifier in LCC/S-Compensated IPT for Wide Output Voltage Regulation over Various Magnetic Couplings

Conventional inductive power transfer (IPT) employs primary control via phase shift, frequency tuning, or voltage whereas closed-loop requires real-time wireless feedback communication. However, the long propagation delay results in small bandwidth. In this paper, a three-level (TL) rectifier is studied to implement secondary and wide output regulation an inductor–capacitor–capacitor/series (LCC/S)-compensated IPT system over various magnetic couplings. The periodical operation behavior analyzed, generic analytical expression of gain including TL derived based on Fourier series. A strategy optimal trajectory proposed maximize factor rectifier. variables are duty cycles zero-level one-level Either one remains at zero, while another utilized modulate strategy. 2 kW prototype designed built validate theoretic analysis. range between 100 V 200 under different coupling coefficients (0.16 0.23), peak efficiency 95.8% misaligned position, as well faster response 1.3 ms experimentally validated.
